On April 30, 2024, Daniel Larson was arrested and initially placed in the Jefferson County Detention Facility under the charge of “courtesy housing for another agency.” He was transferred the next day to Clear Creek County Jail. The arrest warrant and initial indictment were issued on April 25 and Daniel was officially indicted on May 1st 2024.

Initially, it was believed that Larson’s arrest stemmed from multiple probation violations. In the days leading up to his arrest, Larson had defrauded a Buffalo Wild Wings and admitted to viewing CSEM. However, a call made to his manager, Clark, revealed that the arrest was related to several terroristic threats Larson had made over the years. According to Clark, Larson faces federal charges that could result in a lengthy prison sentence. Leaked documents confirmed that Larson has seven counts of threats against him, which could lead to a maximum sentence of 65 years if convicted on all counts.
This arrest followed nearly a year of investigation by Secret Service agent Daniel MacDougall, who was initially thought to be a troll by many followers of Larson. MacDougall’s investigation culminated in Larson’s arrest. Larson has been arrested five times so far in 2024, having been detained just 28 days prior, as well as in the months leading up to this incident. Unlike previous arrests, Larson is currently ineligible for bond, and it is uncertain if he will ever be granted bond.
