On May 13, 2022, Daniel Larson was involved in an incident known as the “Porch Charging Incident.” Daniel was found charging his phone on someone’s porch without permission. The homeowner confronted him, leading to a heated exchange. This incident was captured on video and later uploaded online, where it garnered significant attention and criticism.
The porch charging incident occurred around the time when Daniel left the house provided to him by Jonas, marking the beginning of the first Homeless Era. Despite being homeless and spending most of his days sleeping outside, Daniel still managed to post TikToks from his phone by finding places to charge it, such as restaurants, stores, and other public facilities.
However, after returning from a hike from Castle Rock on May 13, 2022, Daniel decided to charge his phone on someone’s private property. When the homeowner discovered Daniel was charging his phone there, he became enraged and got aggressive, threatening to call the police after Daniel refused to leave.
Daniel then started having a meltdown, resorting to calling the owner of the property a racial slur. When a user pointed out in the comments that it’s wrong to say racial slurs, Daniel responded by saying, “True unless it’s because you are really scared for your safety.” Despite this, Daniel’s statement doesn’t make sense, as he has also used the slur in situations where nobody is around.
The video has since been deleted from YouTube, but many re-uploads exist on various platforms:
Daniel’s Perspective of The Porch Charging Incident
Daniel has addressed the incident in hindsight several times. He claimed to have said the racial slur simply in self-defense, although it is questionable what “defense” this provided for him, as it increased the severity of the situation further.
In a Discord interview in April 2023 regarding the incident, Daniel claimed to have been in an unfamiliar area with a dead phone. Without access to an electrical outlet, he was told to knock on homes in the area, “door-to-door,” until he found an “abandoned” house with an electrical outlet. Daniel claimed to have sat on the porch to charge his phone and then find directions. When the owner arrived, Daniel felt threatened enough to begin filming. When attempting to leave, he encountered resistance from the homeowner. When questioned about his use of the “Tactical Slur” by the interviewers, Daniel explained that he initially attempted silence, then tried talking over the person, resorting to the word as a last resort to silence them. He explicitly stated that he had not used the term as a “self-defense word” prior to this particular incident.

There is also another video featuring Daniel’s own point of view, and a brief statement regarding his use of the n-word as for “self defence” purposes.
